Yesterday, I received my German import of the 2001 VH1 salsa-dancing movie The Way She Moves, starring Annabeth Gish and Kamar de los Reyes.

Image

It had an average plot for this type of movie, but I thought it was cute. I mean, I wasn't paying attention to most of it because I thought it was going to be dumb (iMDb plot keywords: gift, dancing, kissing, present, infidelity, engagement ring, bare-chested male) ...but I can see it having a lot of rewatch potential.

A definite Arcadia moment when I read in the paper of a new housing estate where they are not allowed to hang laundry out and all their sheds have to be the same colour!

LOL. I love that about "Arcadia". I don't think I could ever live in a place with such rules!

The name of a recent episode of "The Leftovers" (an amazing HBO show) is titled "Ten Thirteen", which of course is CC's birthday (and the name of the production company for TXF).

I was watching the TV series "Stories from the ER" which follows a bunch of doctors retelling their weirdest tales from their time in the Emergency Room. Some of the stories were obviously disgusting, but some of them were so weird that you would have imagined them being an X-file with the whole "It seems paranormal but does actually have a logical scientific explanation" diseases.

Just saw Hardball, a 90s Keanu baseball movie with kids. Phillip Padgett (John Hawkes) appears as Keanu's friend. I think this was a little before he started writing novels and falling in love with Agent Scully.

I've been trying to stay relatively spoiler free, but all of these little promos look and sound incredible to me. The look of the show is just gorgeous. (Although the largest screen I have right now is 23".)

Watching football today, FOX was doing lots of ads for a new show called "Second Chance", where they broadcast that it's brought to you from "the Executive Producer of The X-Files and 24" (showing the latter two programs' logos).

Then for the Seahawks game, the announcer, Thom Brennaman, pointed out that "The X-Files and 24...both great shows!" as well.

GOP debate. The whole sorry bunch should be abducted by Aliens and experimented upon.

P.S. Except Trump. He IS an alien. A particularly dumb one.

Yeah, I find Trump to be pretty amusing, too. I could see him being an alien, but his hair is "too fake" (in the same way as Scully's was "too red"); he's probably a mandroid. :P

Trump looks exactly like an old alien bounty hunter... :)

As for Scully's hair, I knew a guy in my primary school whose hair was much "redder" than Scully's and it was natural hair. So...it's possible :)

Today I was reminded of The X-Files when my daughter was watching The Tudors. There was a point where they literally played music that sounded exactly like TXF theme! My daughter didn't hear it, so I rewound it and she could totally hear it, too! :-o

This week has been a very 'reminds me of the X-files' X-files week...

We have had our first lot of commercials advertising the "coming soon" of the X-files which is AMAZING (I was half convinced that it wouldn't even make it to mainstream New Zealand TV seeing as it doesn't appear on our version of Netflix). Aside from that, I was watching the movie "PAUL" and up comes my favourite line ever of "Agent Mulder was right!" "Agent Mulder was my idea". Everyone wondered why I squealed on the couch.

This poem by famous Polish poet Wislava Szymborska:

I believe in the refusal to take part.
I believe in the ruined career.
I believe in the wasted years of work.
I believe in the secret taken to the grave.

These words soar for me beyond all rules
without seeking support from actual examples.
My faith is strong, blind and without foundation.

Sums up M's and S's philosophy of life pretty well, dontcha think?

They were doing a little segment on the Edge radio station here in New Zealand about the revival of old bands who people wished could re-group again (I believe in reference to S-Club 7 rumoring a return). They played some old songs by Backstreet Boys, Jojo and Bloodhound Gang...

The lyrics obviously aren't the greatest or most PC, but I used to listen to the song prior to my love of the show and never understood what watching X-files was hahaha!

"So show me yours I'll show you mine "Tool Time" you'll Lovett just like Lyle
And then we'll do it d*ggy style so we can both watch "X-Files"

I was watching the movie "Small Soldiers" last night, for the first time in at least a decade. The two younger characters, Gregory Smith and Kirsten Dunst were talking about TV shows.
"I'm more of an X-files fan" (Smith)
"The truth is out there!" (Dunst)

This is not from today... but I've had a few XF reminders lately.

I saw one in Stephen King's recent book, The Bazaar of Bad Dreams.

And I saw a couple in a video game I'm playing (Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked).

There was an uber religious character who kind of reminded me of Chris and there was a mention of magnetite! Only it's a different thing, but it made me laugh .

That actor was a guest at Emerald City Comic Con a few years back.

Robbie Amell (Agent Miller) was there this year (last week). The only celebrity I met was Sean Astin, who was a very nice guy.

You saw Rudy and Sam, the fat hobbit? He died a hero in 24 and saved everyone in CTU!

Speaking of CTU, I just saw Eugene Victor Tooms resurrected as a motorcycle cop in 24. Tooms vs. Bauer.

Image

Deep thought of the day....

If Mulder partnered with Bauer, the aliens wouldn't stand a chance. But the romance would be too weird.

Prince's death is a shocker. Reminded me of this.

MULDER: Yeah. Witnesses described a bright flash about 30 degrees off the horizon, then a hot yellow rain fell from a cloudless sky. Fortean researchers call these "liquid falls." Black and red rains are the most common, but there have also been reported cases of blue, purple and green rains.

SCULLY: Purple rain?

MULDER: Yeah. Great album. Deeply flawed movie, though.

A couple of weeks ago my wife had a mole removed and her biopsy result came two days ago. So we went to the hospital and asked the nurse if he can tell us the results, to which he pointed at the doctor's office door and said "Well, the truth is out there". I didn't know whether to laugh or punch him in the face.

P.S. The biopsy was good news, mole was completely benign.

Ha; that's pretty epic. Perhaps they should have referred back to the Dodgers when naming the characters in the most recent season. I know I've said it a million times in this forum, but Einstein... Really?!

Last night, I watched Jason Goes To Hell, the completely bonkers sequel in the Friday the 13th series. Some familiar X-Files faces are Steven Williams (Mr. X), Rusty Schwimmer (the bus driver in "Roadrunners"), Allison Smith (the lady with the baby in "TrustNo1") and Michael B. Silver ("Dreamland 1 & II"). [I only recognized the first two.)

Also, when the coroner is performing an autopsy, he mentions that the heart is filled with a black viscous fluid...Oh, you mean like the Black Oil???

Last night I watched a movie called In Love With an Older Woman (1982) and Jerry Hardin (Deep Throat) popped up in a scene.

Today I relistened to The X-Cast interview with Mark Snow and ordered Vol. 3 of the soundtrack finally.

There's certain things that my boyfriend does that tends to remind me of The X-Files. He believes in a lot of things and tends to tell me about the things that he believes in and daily he'll say, "Your the only one I trust." Sometimes I give him this look to question him or not because he knows how I'm a big fan of The X-Files. Than he'll hug me close and I know he does truly mean it. Deep down I believe this is why I truly do love him because he's not like anyone else and he's always thinking, always researching, always working, always moving and keeping busy and I'm always trying to catch up with him. He's very mysterious, smart, has a great sense of humor with a good heart. I love him.

Know this sounds cheesy but in a way he's my Mulder and I'm his Scully. :conf
