Not a Classic Rock / Bruce fan? Then ignore this.

If you are a fan, note that his new album "Wrecking Ball" drops Mar 6, 2012. Here's the newly released track (audio only) -
"We Take Care of Our Own"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... bgZs5yH0ss

There's lots of haters on YT. This is classic Bruce, minus The Big Man, who will always be missed. RIP, Clarence Clemmons. No word whether there's sax on other trax. Rumors indicate Clemmons' son may sit in on tour...

Florence+The Machine is amazing. I love her last album, the tracks "What The Water Gave Me" and "No Light, No Light" are my favorites.

Whitesnake, not new but always classic, with David Coverdale performing "Here I Go Again" ... Both his singing and speaking voice are a gift, magnificently resonant.

One of the too-many-to-count reasons why so called musicians who Auto-Tune their "music" to death actually pervert the definition of music.

I had to post this because of the title alone... "Alien Days" by MGMT. One reviewer called it "trippy" ... I'd say that's about right. A comment compared them to Pink Floyd... Ummmm, "NO!"

Interesting article. A 5 minute listen if you hang in there. (I'll stick to Zepp)

First, classic rock music trivia...

John Fogerty @John_Fogerty (The rocker, not the cricket)
Which one of John's songs was in the 1994 hit movie "Forrest Gump" starring @tomhanks? Hint: @foofighters like this song too. #TriviaTuesday
Tom Hanks @tomhanks (CERTIFIED!)
@John_Fogerty. Why fortunate son, a favorite! Hanx

Great song! "Fortunate Son" is also on John Fogerty's newest album with Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters.

So I have two songs stuck in my head today which I will pass on to you.

1st, there is Lacuna Coil's [Italian Rock band who's singer Cristina Scabbia is voted one of the hottest women in Rock] cover of R.E.M's "Loosing my Religion". This is their second cover (First was Depeche Mode's "Enjoy the Silence", and personally I enjoy both covers better than the original. They are rock with a style known as Beauty and the Beast (Nice female vocals and a more 'rugged' male vocalist). I would seriously suggest listening to their crossover with Alterbridge called "Watch over you".

And then there's "Say Something (I'm giving up on you)" by A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera. Now I have attached the music video which accompanies the imagery from "Blue is the Warmest Colour" (Film) because the official trailer for this song makes me cry [And I didn't want to pass on bad joo-joo]. I suggest listening to the song and, for any film buffs or people with a love of French cinema, suggest watching the film too!

I made a TXF music video for this song! It's one of my favorites! It was my first video and it's very "green fan"ish, but I still like it. I would also like to mention that this was before the song was popular and before Christina was featured.

Thanks for the recommendation, ItsOutThere! I'd heard of Lacuna Coil before, but not this song; I think this version might be even better than REM's original.

"I just threw out the love of my dreams" by Weezer. It's actually part of their lost album "Songs From the Black Hole", a space opera. Just recently Rivers Cumo (lead singer) released a two part solo album with all those songs. I'm buying it soon, so excited! I think sometime I'll make an x-files video with it, although I'll end up hating the song. I think the best choice would be Buddy Holly, because I could never hate it, probably. I dunno. Weezer fans, what do you think would be the best choice?

I'm not really watching American Idol, but I'm really digging Jessica Meuse this season. She has an 80s country pop/rock vibe.

And I'm all about some Maureen McGovern this week.

Seriously, if they make an X-Files 3, I want there to be a cheesy 70s style love ballad. I keep substituting "There's got to be a morning after..." with "Listen to me, the truth is out therrrrre..."

Also, sleep-deprived.

New Zealand 'X-Factor" runner up Benny Tipene... I don't like all of his other music, but this one was quite catchy! So much so I did not think it was by a kiwi artist.

The chorus is VERY catchy. I like the "I go dancing through the fire" bit.

I make a new playlist every few weeks and tend to listen to those songs over and over on repeat until I make the next playlist. (Well, I still listen to other music, too, but that's the main playlist.)

So even though I've been listening to these songs for over a week, a couple of tracks from the Divergent soundtrack suddenly stood out today:

Pia Mia - "Fight For You" (feat. Chance the Rapper)
Snow Patrol - "I Won't Let You Go"

Also, that new Taylor Swift song "Shake It Off" is fun.

(Shut up.)
