XFiles Review Sites & Guides

XFU features a short guide to each episode and has a topic for you to rate each ep.

Members also have the ability to post their thoughts, trivia, etc about each episode.

If you know of other sites that provide reviews or guides to the episodes, please place them in this topic.

From Agent Skulder:
The X-Files Lexicon

The X-Files Lexicon is a comprehensive site, designed and run by Matt Allair. Like XFU, it's a member of "The Syndicate," which means it works in tandem with other X-Files sites to create a network of X-Files information, both from the history making series and movies, to present day activities such as interviews which relate to the X-Files Franchise.

One of the Lexicon features is a series of Episode Guides which discuss each episode in depth. Link to all Season One episodes here:

The X-Files Truth Podcast
This is a blog with accompanying podcasts
http://xfilestruth.com/

With unrestricted access, Agent Shadow gives listeners detailed reports of information contained within the X-Files. Each podcast features a new case, detailing unexplained phenomena, government cover-ups, and the investigations of Agents Mulder and Scully. In “X-Files DNA” Agent Shadow uses his expertise in audible forensics to present music related to the X-Files or the featured episode.

Providing insight into the relationship and personalities of the X-Files agents is Agent Chelsea.  As a shipper specialist, she digs deep into the psychology of Mulder and Scully to provide a better understanding of their motivations, interaction on the cases, and overall partnership giving her take in the “Chemistry Lab”.  Using her high clearance level, Agent Chelsea also gathers intelligence from other sources on the segment “Out There”.

With news of possible leaks in the classified documents, Agent Summer searches for websites containing the restricted X-Files information to keep the government from closing them down. Each podcast will feature a report on one such website in the “X-Files Web Report”.

In “Counter-Intelligence”, Agent Stone works to debunk the debunkers, defending the work of Mulder and Scully. He guides listeners with his take on the case and provides details of necessary background information. Generally thought of as the best analyst on the X-Files Truth team, Agent Stone uses this proficiency in the “Character Profiles”. From time to time, he also provides the latest on new X-Files gear in the “Stone Gunman Report”.

We also keep you current on the whereabouts of those associated with the X-Files in “The Truth is Still Out There”. Guided by Agents Chelsea and Summer, the segment gives updates on the latest roles and projects of X-File alumni, X-Files charity events and gatherings, as well as any information on a possible forthcoming movie.

Musings of an X-Phile - by Salome

A blog with "musings" or reviews, currently complete thru S6. (Her reviews stopped around the time XF3 seemed to be permanently stalled.)

Salome explains:

Consider this blog one giant plea for XF3.

If you’d like to consider it further, it’s also an attempt to finally put down some concrete thoughts that have been whirling in my mind for 14 years about the best show that ever there was. The X-Files is even better the second, third, fourth and fifth time around than it was on its initial run.

With that said, I have a few lofty goals in mind:

To find things in The X-Files I’ve never found before, see what I’ve never seen, and hopefully find more to enjoy than I ever have.

To inspire others to rewatch the show with fresh eyes.

To encourage new fans to start watching.

To invite discussion between X-Philes!

Here’s to loving episodes we used to hate and loving episodes we used to love even more. Cheers!

Autumn Tysko's XF Reviews

"I love reviews.
That's how I can learn what other people think of "The X-Files", which brings me to the conclusion: I love opinions.
Anyway, here you can find Autumn's reviews, which I think are the best XF reviews on the net."

Concise and witty. Easy to navigate.

Polly's Cherish the Past Notes comprise the episode writing and directing information and some random musings. The entire series is covered.

Unwelcome Commentary offers short reviews for each episode of the whole series.

Someone mentioned on twitter today that there are quite a few XF related blogs popping up and how great it is to see a swell of interest in the show. :bear I couldn't agree more! Let's hope Fox is taking notice.

You guys already know about yours truly (ahem!), but fellow forum member MF Luder started a review blog recently that I wanted to bring to the attention of anyone who wasn't aware. It's good stuff folks!! http://imadethischriscarter.blogspot.com/

He's branching out and will be covering ALL the works of 1013 productions. I'm planning to watch Millennium for the first time this year so I'm excited about that. :appl

Red Wolf is an excellent episode guide. It is a collection of X-Files cast, quotes and summaries. Cast and crew have been cross-linked to all the episodes they have appeared in, as well as any other work listed in IMDb.

Re-Opening the X-Files is another good blog that reviews the XF.

I'm sure mine won't be nearly as good as some of the other review sites out there, but I started my own review blog a couple of months ago, if anyone wants to check it out. I'm almost done with Season 2.

I like the format for your site, LostCast19.

I think with the mosquito bites, even a doctor like Scully could be freaked out. They can look different sometimes, and I think she was just getting a little bit caught up in the hysteria, especially considering it was her first brush with the paranormal/unexplained.
