X-Files References in the Media

X-Files References in the Media

Postby TruthIsOutThere » January 11th, 2012, 3:04 pm

I suppose this could be filed under the "things that made me think of TXF today", but this is a little more on the nose than that.

The following article about Tim Tebow makes numerous X-Files references, as the author appears to be a fan.

Wow... Sounds like a Phile. Or she wanted to bogard the phrase "I want to believe..." At least this is more creative than the religious wingnuts who insist "GOD is helping Tebow win..."

At the blog's conclusion: "Jelisa Castrodale has learned a lot about life by making a mess of her own. Read more atjelisacastrodale.com, follow her on twitter athttp://twitter.com/#!/gordonshumway, or contact her atjacastrodale@gmail.com"

Maybe a Mod should contact her and ask her to join...

Great Article and Tim Tebow was phenomenal in last weeks game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, I never thought Denver had a chance against them, guess I was completely wrong.

Here's a new reference, from Fixed Noise *cough* or FOX News of all places:

http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2012/05/ ... tists-say/

The truth is out there about UFO in Baltic Sea, Swedish scientists say

A taste...
Swedish scientists plan to explore a mystery ripped straight from the “The X-Files.”

Rather than Mulder and Scully, this adventure features Swedish researchers Peter Lindberg and Dennis Asberg. They too know the truth is out there -- and in mere days plan to visit what they call the “Baltic Anomaly.”

Last summer, while on a treasure hunt between Sweden and Finland, the pair and their research associates made headlines worldwide with the discovery of a 200-foot wide unidentified object at the bottom of the Baltic Sea. Now a team of oceanographers, engineers and deep sea divers will return to the site Friday, June 1, for a 6 to 10 day trip.

They want to find out once and for all what it really is....

Hmm... interesting. In my youth, I would have been glued to this type of news. HOWEVER, I have grown to become a bit more Scully-ish over the years. My guess is that this is a standard geologic formation similar to that found off of Bimini. Remember the Bimini road? Yeah... that's what it is. We should catalog this to see how it all pans out.

Catalog...? :dk

Just checking the news (or running occasional interweb searches on this topic) and updating this thread with any results should suffice ... Unless of course this thread disappears into the BHUT (silent H) - Black Hole for Unwanted Threads - with all the other missing threads.

Frank Spotnitz has become a one-man advocate for a third movie.

Last week he appeared at the TCA Panel for HBO to discuss his new show "Hunted" which airs in the US on Cinemax in October, 2012 (HBO owns Cinemax for anyone confused). In the UK it also airs on BBC.

He took time out to discuss his XF3 thoughts. Visit:

This morning when I was about to go to work, I heard on the radio the theme song of TXF. Turned out the radio is promoting a new programme and the name of it is called 'sensitive files' (in Chinese).
See, the impact of TXF is still going on after all these years!
