Interesting article, thanks for sharing GD78.

If I were a newbe, I'd start from the Pilot and take my time and go through the entire show, that's what I think.

Milagro - Agent Scully falls in love but that's obviously impossible. Agent Scully is already in love.

An interesting read, although I disagree with the author about Pusher being a good place for new fans to start. Deep Throat would have been my choice. That way they wouldn't miss out on such classics as Squeeze, Ice, E.B.E., The Erlenmeyer Flask, The Host, Blood, Irresistible, Die Hand, Die Verletzt and many other awesome eps. I'm to lazy to list right now.

The Pilot is the way to start. From the beginning!

The Pilot is mediocre and uneven, imo. The production values are pretty low and the overall quality of the episode is not representative of the show in general and that makes it a rather poor place to start for new fans, I think.

The fans who've been around since the beginning or at least since before the show went off the air, enjoy this episode because they have come to know and love these characters so profoundly over the years and so this first hour, the very beginning of the breathtaking journey they've experienced, means so much to them, that they are able to overlook the flaws and still love it.

That would not be the case for people who've just discovered The X-Files. I think the Pilot would leave them very unimpressed and maybe even unwilling to give the series another chance.

I still think that the Pilot was good episode and I won't change my mind and I still think if you consider watching "The X-files", the Pilot is the way to start.

Good article, though I disagree about what he said about IWTB at the end.

I'll agree that the Pilot (which I still think is a great episode) is the best place to start. I watched the whole series with my daughter a few years ago, and she didn't lose interest at all!
