A lot of people do take things to the next level when they are trying to forget the sorrow they are experiencing. Honestly, I was fine with M&S not kissing for the most part throughout the series, because I loved the UST of it. But that one was the first time I felt like the writers thoroughly screwed up. Then a couple episodes later we get a New Year's eve kiss?! Um, no.

Yeah... Fantastic for you perhaps. Future eps could have been called "The Sex Files," not what Carter was aiming for. It would have derailed and diluted the series, and brought it down to the level of all the unimaginative pseudo-romantic crap already clogging network TV.
